Tool Highlight: Multi-Highlight

Source faster and more efficiently, with color coding as well!

For all my sourcing and recruiting peers out there that strive to life-hack-uber-optimize everything: you must get this extension.

Multi-highlight does, unsurprisingly, exactly as it implies- it highlights multiple words on a web page that you enter in it’s querying field. Much like a ctrl+F.

The killer differentiator, however, is you can highlight multiple words that are unrelated to one another, on a page. Unfortunately it doesn’t recognize phrases, yet, but it is massively valuable in conjunction with boolean searches because it immediately highlights exactly what you’re looking for. Plus it can be used in conjunction with ANY chrome webpage, provided that it’s displaying text. So it’s effective for both open-web searches, as well as LinkedIn profile searches.

So now, instead of a drab wall of black and white text, your results can look like this:

BEHOLD!

Behold! The glory of color coded search results! All for free and without hassle!

Sorry, had to.

Now, it does provide a couple bugs to note: if you’re typing and you type any of the search terms you’ve indicated you want multi-highlight to look for — you’ll screw up your typing. Yes it’s annoying, but alas this isn’t a perfect system. It’s merely an attempt to make your sourcing “more” perfect.

Happy sourcing!
